Accessibility Statement
This statement was last updated on October 11, 2026. We at St. Peter Area Food Shelf are committed to making our site and services accessible to people with disabilities.
St. Peter Area Foodshelf Inc. wants everyone in our community to be able to find help, donate, and volunteer, online and in person. We are working to make stpeterfoodshelf.com usable for people of all abilities, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology.
1. Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content easier to use for people with disabilities, and easier for everyone.
2. What we have done
-
Built the site to work with keyboards and screen readers
-
Used clear headings, plain language, and descriptive link text
-
Added text descriptions (alt text) to meaningful images
-
Chosen colors and text sizes with readable contrast
-
Made pages work on phones, tablets, and computers, and when zoomed to 200%
-
Labeled form fields, including on our contact form
3. Outside tools we use
Some features rely on outside services, including PayPal for donations, Google Forms for volunteer applications, SignUpGenius for shift sign-ups, and Facebook for news. We choose tools with accessibility in mind, but we do not control how they are built. If one of them is hard to use, contact us and we will help another way.
4. Known limitations
We review the site regularly, but some content may not yet be fully accessible. This may include older blog posts, PDFs from partner agencies, and linked outside websites. We are working to improve these over time.
5. Other ways to get help
You never need the website to get food or support. You can:
